The 2014 Conference’s inaugural speech entitled "The Age of Uncertainty: Perspectives on Globalization, Inequality and the Future of Democracy," was delivered by Prof. Ziya Öniş of Koç University, Turkey (Click here for the slides of Prof. Öniş' speech at the 2014 Conference).
There is an award for the best graduate student paper. In 2014, it was given to a paper entitled "Partisanship In Institutional Change: A Case Study Of Pension Reforms in the United Kingdom, 1980 – 2010," presented by Efe Savaş from Bilkent University, Turkey.
First TPES Interdisciplinary Workshop entitled "The Political Economy of Contemporary Turkey" was held at the GLODEM, Koç University on July 30-31, 2015. Featuring a keynote lecture on “The place of equality in the approaches to social policy: Recent developments in Turkey from a comparative historical perspective” by Prof. Ayşe Buğra of Boğaziçi University (Click here for Prof. Buğra's keynote lecture delivered at the 2015 Workshop), this workshop facilitated the presentation and discussion of 13 papers.
The title of the Second TPES Workshop was "Politics in Hard Times: Emerging Markets after the Global Recession." Held by the GLODEM on July 29, 2016, this workshop featured a keynote lecture by Prof. Mine Eder of Boğaziçi University (Click here for Prof. Eder's keynote lecture delivered at the 2016 Workshop) and 15 papers.
